Nate Hinton accounted for 27 points (9-of-16 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs), five rebounds, three assists, five steals, and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes in Sunday’s 115-101 win over the Jazz.
Hinton is the most experienced player on Houston’s Summer League roster, and he’s been an important leader for this group. That along with the production should only help him in his quest to earn a training camp invite, be it from the Rockets or another NBA team. In a similar position is Fletcher Magee, who came off the bench in Sunday’s win and tallied 21 points, five rebounds, one assist, and three 3-pointers in 17 minutes. Neither Magee nor Hinton will be on the fantasy radar, but give both credit for making the most of their respective opportunities.
  • NBA Shooting Guard
Wofford senior guard Fletcher Magee has accepted an invitation to play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
Magee, the two-time SoCon Player of the Year, first has some business to attend to in the NCAA tournament as the Terriers face Seton Hall Thursday night. The senior guard is averaging 20.5 points per game while shooting 44.4% from the field, 42.8% from three and 90.7% from the foul line. Magee is one of the best shooters in college basketball, and that skill will get him looks at the NBA level.
