NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa. – Just when you are tempted to say that Tiger Woods is back, he starts playing like a 15-handicapper.
Flawless from tee to green for much of the day, his game has suddenly disintegrated.
No shame in a three-putt bogey at No. 14, but he made a meal of the par-5 16th, dumping a seemingly straightfoward wedge shot into a greenside bunker to drop another shot.
Worse followed when he found the pond guarding the green at the par-3 17th for a double.
In four holes, Woods has dropped four shots and plunged from 1 under to 3 over.
Should make for a fun interview when he finishes.
