Most great ball-strikers shallow out the shaft on the downswing and approach impact with the club traveling slightly from the inside.
Conversely, most average and higher-handicap players tend to get steep on the way down or even come over the top.
Charlie does a lot of things well in his swing but has been struggling with consistent, accurate ball-striking, and in this video SwingFix instructor Christian Czaja shows him that his problems are a result of a downswing that’s too steep and that a change in the path of his swing is needed.
Enjoy this analysis and learn to analyze your own videos to see if you’re making the mistake of being steeper on the downswing than you are going back.
