Jaime Lovemark, 22, turned pro last summer and wasted no time making the most of his professional career. The USC product earned more than $450,000 in the fall of 2009, finishing runner-up alongside fellow new pro Rickie Fowler after losing in a three-man playoff to Troy Matteson at the Frys.com Open.
While Fowler made it through Q-school into the big leagues, Lovemark has been honing his game on the Nationwide Tour this year. He’s finished inside the top-5 in four events, with his best finish a tie for second at the BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. Lovemark, who was the 2007 NCAA Champion as a freshman, currently sits 10th on the Nationwide Tour money list and in good position at this point of the season to be a part of the 25 players who earn cards for next year.
Lovemark is continuing to inch even closer to securing his PGA Tour privileges for next season – with a victory at this week’s Mexico Open, we could see Lovemark playing regularly alongside Fowler again very soon.
