PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- K.J. Choi jumped up 21 spots to come in at No. 16 in the latest World Golf Rankings following his victory at the Linde German Masters.
Choi, who was recently chosen by Gary Player as a captains pick for the upcoming Presidents Cup, became the first Korean to ever win on the European Tour.
Tiger Woods remained firmly entrenched atop the rankings followed by South African Ernie Els. Vijay Singh, who is tops on the PGA Tour money list, held onto his third-place ranking from last week.
Davis Love III stayed at No. 4 while U.S. Open winner Jim Furyk moved up one spot to fifth. Mike Weir dropped one to No. 6 followed by David Toms, Kenny Perry, Padraig Harrington and Retief Goosen, who all held their positions from last week to round out the top-10.
Phil Mickelson stayed put at No. 11 with Nick Price and Darren Clarke following at No. 12 and No. 13, respectively.
Chris DiMarco remained at No. 14 while Justin Leonard followed at No. 15. Choi was 16th with Robert Allenby falling one spot to No. 17.
Jay Haas fell one space to No. 18. He was followed by Adam Scott, who stayed put at No. 19. Sergio Garcia finished two spots lower than last week at No. 20.
J.L. Lewis, who captured the 84 Lumber Classic of Pennsylvania last week, vaulted 26 spots to come in at No. 66 this week.
