Luke Donald Update

Luke Donald will return to hitting balls next week following his lengthy injury lay-off.

Donald sustained a left wrist injury at the U.S. Open in June and underwent surgery in mid-August to repair the damaged tendon. His agent at IMG, John Wagner, told Golf Channel that Luke will travel from his city pad in Chicago, to start practicing in some winter sunshine at his place in Palm Beach, Fla.

Donald will prepare for an outing at the Chevron World Challenge in California, Dec 18-21. It will be the first tournament hes played since withdrawing midway through the final round at Torrey Pines.

If all goes to plan, and the wrist isnt proving troublesome, Donald will then plan out his early 2009 schedule. Last season he opened the year in January at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship on the European Tour. Donald will turn 31 on December 7.
