The lights shine brightest in Las Vegas, home of this week’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin. The golf scene in Sin City can be dizzying, with courses ranging from convenient Strip splurges to mountain golf and high-end oases.

On Morning Drive, travel expert Matt Ginella named his aces in a Las Vegas Top 5 Golf Courses, which you can see in this video:

1. Shadow Creek

2. Cascata

3. TPC Las Vegas

4. Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute

5. Royal Links Golf Club

So how does this ranking compare with other Vegas-area golfers? GolfNow golfers who plunked down their own cash to play throughout the area have been busy rating the golf scene all year. Golfers rate their experience in a variety of categories like conditions and value.

To date, GolfNow’s Top 10, which includes neighboring communities like Laughlin and Pahrump, has a couple similar picks to Ginella: Wolf at Las Vegas Paiute and Royal Links.

The best, according to GolfNow? That would be Mountain Falls, located just within an hour from the Strip in Pahrump. The course earns high marks for conditions, service and value. With green fees in the fall hovering around $65-75, it may very well be worth the diversion.
