Colts signed CFL all-star LB Henoc Muamba.
Muamba was selected first overall in the 2011 CFL draft by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and was with the team the last three seasons. Muamba has 171 tackles, four sacks, and one interception over his career. He was awarded the Lew Hayman Trophy as the best Canadian player in the East Division in 2013. Muamba will compete for a job at inside linebacker, where the Colts are needy. GM Ryan Grigson has been highly successful tapping other leagues to pluck core talent, so we’re not calling Muamba a long shot by any stretch.

Former CFL ILB Henoc Muamba’s contract with the Colts is for three years and includes $107,000 guaranteed.
It’s a solid sum for a player GM Ryan Grigson is essentially signing off the street. (That’s how ex-CFL players are viewed in contract terms by NFL teams.) Muamba was a high-impact middle linebacker for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and is only 25 years old. Always casting a wide net for talent, Grigson unearthed Jerrell Freeman from similar obscurity and he’s become a high-end NFL starter.
