Hiroki Kuroda will start Sunday against the Giants.
Dana Eveland will pitch Saturday, essentially pushing everyone in the Dodgers rotation back a day. Kuroda is fresh off one his worst performances as a major leaguer (four home runs allowed in six innings against the Nationals) and will look to rebound against the Giants.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda acknowledged after Sunday’s loss to the Giants that he’s again experiencing neck discomfort.
Kuroda yielded three runs on eight hits in just 4 2/3 innings against San Francisco, and has now struggled in three straight outings. He called the neck pain “mild” when talking to reporters Sunday evening, but it’s clearly affecting his ability to retire batters. The right-hander isn’t going to be an effective fantasy option down the stretch.
  • MLB Relief Pitcher #59
Phil Hughes’ next start has been pushed back from Saturday to Monday.
He is expected to split Monday’s game with Hiroki Kuroda. The change of plans means that Hughes is unofficially in the rotation and will likely start the third game of the season against the Rays on March 8.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
One start after coming within three outs of his third career shutout, Hiroki Kuroda got roughed up in Wednesday’s loss to the Twins, allowing six runs on 10 hits in just 4 2/3 innings.
Kuroda struck out four and walked none, but served up a pair of home runs to Justin Morneau. Now the owner of a 5.00 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 12/6 K/BB ratio through his first 18 1/3 innings in pinstripes, Kuroda will look to continue alternating good and bad outings against the Rangers in Texas on Monday.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda held the Orioles in check Monday, limiting them to just one run on four hits and a walk over seven innings in the 2-1 win.
He struck out three and hit one batter. Kuroda has had a couple bad outings early on in his Yankees career, but he’s been very good the other three times out, as he finished April with a 3.69 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. He’ll face off against the Royals over the weekend.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda hurled three shutout innings Monday night against the Astros.
Kuroda allowed two hits while striking out two and walking two. The veteran right-hander threw just 24 out of 42 pitches for strikes, so he was hardly in mid-season form, but he was much better than his spring debut against the Rays last week.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda shut out the Angels for eight innings to earn a win Friday in the Yankees’ home opener.
Kuroda allowed five hits, all of them singles, and struck out six in the gem. David Robertson followed with a scoreless ninth in a 5-0 game to complete the shutout. Kuroda is 1-1 with a 2.63 ERA.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda allowed one run over three innings against the Marlins on Monday in his final tuneup of the spring.
Kuroda allowed three hits while walking one and striking out a pair. He finishes Grapefruit League play with a 2.92 ERA and 17/4 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings. He’s slated to start the second game of the season Saturday against the Rays and should carry plenty of fantasy value this season.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda pitched well against the Rangers on Tuesday, allowing just two runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings.
Kuroda struck out five and walked just two, but he picked up the loss as he was out-pitched by Yu Darvish. Ian Kinsler got the scoring started with a solo homer leading off the first inning, and that was all the offense that the Rangers would need. Still, it’s a welcome sight to see the improved effort from Kuroda, and he’ll look to carry that over to his next start against the Tigers.
  • INT Starting Pitcher
Hiroki Kuroda pitched well against the Mariners on Friday, allowing just two runs on six hits over seven strong innings of work.
Kuroda walked three and struck out two in the game. He’s been inconsistent thus far on the season, but this win improves his record to 3-4 and lowers his ERA to 3.56. He’ll attempt to carry over the momentum from this strong outing when he takes on the Blue Jays in Toronto on Wednesday.
