Humberto Mejia has signed with the Chunichi Dragons of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
Mejia, who signed a minor league pact with the Mets back in January, hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign. The 26-year-old righty posted an inflated 6.17 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 30/12 K/BB ratio across 35 innings (eight starts) this season for Triple-A Syracuse. He’ll aim to rebuild his long-term value overseas in Japan.

Mets signed RHP Humberto Mejía to a minor league contract.
Mejía has made eight starts at the major-league level over the last three seasons between the Diamondbacks and Marlins, posting a lackluster 6.68 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 31/15 K/BB ratio across 32 1/3 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander bolsters the Mets’ organizational pitching depth heading into the 2023 season.

    Diamondbacks released RHP Humberto Mejía.
Mejía has made eight starts at the major-league level over the last three seasons between the Diamondbacks and Marlins. The 25-year-old righty has been hit hard this season at Triple-A Reno, recording a bloated 9.60 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 6/4 K/BB ratio across 15 innings (nine appearances). He should be able to latch on somewhere else as organizational pitching depth.

Diamondbacks sent RHP Humberto Mejia outright to Triple-A Reno.
Mejia went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last week and will remain with the Diamondbacks as organizational pitching depth. The 25-year-old righty holds an underwhelming 6.68 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 31/15 K/BB ratio across 32 1/3 innings (eight starts) at the major-league level since 2020.

Diamondbacks designated RHP Humberto Mejia for assignment.
Mejia has registered a lackluster 6.68 ERA, 1.86 WHIP and 31/15 K/BB ratio across 32 1/3 innings (eight starts) at the major-league level since 2020. Given the lack of pitching depth across the league, there should be some interest in the 25-year-old righty on waivers.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Humberto Mejia, RHP Ryan Weiss, and OF Stuart Fairchild to Triple-A Reno.
A fresh round of cuts from the major league side of D-backs camp. Mejia, 25, struggled to a 7.25 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, and 20/9 K/BB ratio over 22 1/3 innings (five starts) last season for Arizona.

Humberto Mejia allowed four runs -- three earned -- on six hits and one walk with five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday.
Mejia allowed a walk and a single in the second inning to put two runners on before Dom Nunez drove in both runners with a double. Raimel Tapia followed with a single to brings a third run across the plate. With a runner on in the fifth, Brendan Rodgers knocked an RBI-triple before Mejia’s day was done. The 24-year-old right-hander ends the season with a 7.25 ERA, 1.84 WHIP, and 20 strikeouts over 22 1/3 innings.

Humberto Mejia served up three home runs in just 2 2/3 innings during Sunday’s loss to the Dodgers.
Mejia served up solo shots to Corey Seager and Trea Turner on back-to-back pitches in the first inning. He was then victimized by Seager for a second time in the third inning. He has really struggled in his time with the Diamondbacks this season, registering a 7.64 ERA and 1.92 WHIP across 17 2/3 innings. He’s lined up to face the Rockies in the final game of the season next Sunday and should be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Humberto Mejia was charged for six runs in just four innings in a loss on Monday to the Braves.
Mejia got of to a decent start with two scoreless frames, but then allowed two in the third with four more being charged to him in the fifth without getting an out. He allowed eight hits with two walks, and struck out four while throwing 94 pitches -- 60 of them for strikes. Even if Arizona wasn’t terrible Mejia wouldn’t be a good streaming option, but that doesn’t help. Stay far away from his scheduled start against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Humberto Mejia allowed four runs on eight hits over six innings in Saturday’s loss to the Phillies.
Mejia was wobbly at the start, allowing two runs in the first inning on a Bryce Harper sacrifice fly and a Didi Gregorius RBI double. Another two runs would score against him in the third inning, in decidedly louder fashion, as Odubel Herrera and Jean Segura socked solo shots back-to-back against the 24-year-old right-hander to put the Diamondbacks in a 4-0 hole. This was just Mejia’s second major league start of the season (and just the fifth of his career). In his first two outings of the summer, he has surrendered six runs across 11 frames. He will try to keep things in check in a home start against the Mariners next time out.
