Rays acquired RHP Jackson Baumiester, INF/OF Mac Horvath and OF Matthew Etzel from the Rays for RHP Zach Eflin.
The 22-year-old right-hander was a second-round selection of the Orioles from the 2023 draft class. He has pitched fairly well in 18 starts at High-A Aberdeen this season — registering a 3.06 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and a 91/43 K/BB ratio across 70 2/3 innings. He was considered to be the 17th best prospect in the Orioles’ system according to MLB Pipeline.
