Packers selected Kentucky C Jager Burton with the No. 153 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Burton (6’4/312) is a grizzled multi-position interior lineman who finally found his footing at center in 2025, posting a career-best 71.3 overall PFF grade with a strong 79.5 pass-blocking mark while not allowing a single sack across 426 pass-blocking snaps. Burton’s experience shows up in his efficiency, surrendering just 12 total pressures in 2025 (98.6 pass-blocking efficiency) while demonstrating improved poise handling interior movement and late pressure looks. His 9.88 RAS underscores a high-end athletic profile for the position, pairing elite speed (4.94s forty, 98th percentile) with excellent short-area agility (90th percentile shuttle) that translates to reach blocks, pulls, and second-level range in zone-heavy schemes. Burton wins with quickness off the ball, fluid lateral movement, and the ability to refit his hands versus power, though his average core strength limits his ability to consistently anchor against NFL-caliber nose tackles. In the run game, he’s more of a positional wall-off blocker than a true people-mover, relying on angles and footwork rather than displacement power, which can cap his effectiveness in gap-heavy systems. While consistency in mental processing and sustain still needs refinement, Burton projects as a versatile interior option whose athletic profile and positional flexibility give him a pathway to develop into a starting-caliber zone-scheme center.

Kentucky received a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 G Jager Burton.
Burton (6'4/271) opted in with Kentucky over an impressive lot of other finalists in Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Oregon. With this pledge, the Wildcats have now landed the top three prospects in their home state. Lexington native Burton brings to the field strength and strong lateral movement. He’ll need to add bulk and continue to hone his technique, but that’s not outside the norm for high school recruits. On the 247Sports composite board, Burton slots in as the No. 125 overall prospect in the 2021 class.

Burton (6'4/271) is looking at several Playoff-caliber teams, plus UK (he hails from Lexington). The four-star guard plans on taking official visits to all five of the above programs as he looks to push his recruitment along ahead of a potential late August commitment announcement. Texas and Penn State could also be players, here, though they have some work to do in catching up. On the 247Sports composite board, Burton ranks as the No. 180 overall prospect in the 2021 class.

Uncommitted four-star 2021 G Jager Burton announced a top seven of Texas, Oregon, Kentucky, Penn State, Ohio State, Alabama and Clemson late last week.
Burton (6'4/271) is considered to be one of the top guards in the Class of 2021, so it comes as no surprise that many of the nation’s top programs are involved in his recruitment. While he still has a ways to go before making a decision on where he’ll play his college football, the Lexington, Kentucky native told 247Sports recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong that he plans to take official visits to Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State at some point. The hometown school, Kentucky, will also host Burton for an official which leaves one opening for the other three programs on his list.
