    Cardinals waived/injured QB Jake Coker.
Coker wasn’t putting any heat on Matt Barkley for third-string duties, and was recently diagnosed with a knee injury that will likely require a scope. The Alabama alum will spend his rookie year on the Cardinals’ I.R. list.
  • FA Quarterback #6
Cardinals signed Alabama QB Jake Coker.
Coker (6'6/244) rode the bench behind E.J. Manuel and Jameis Winston at Florida State before transferring to Alabama, where he went 14-0 as a one-year starter for the national champs. As a senior, Coker completed 66.9% of his throws for 3,110 yards (7.91 YPA) and a 21:8 TD-to-INT ratio. Coker offers NFL size and a “winner” track record, but he is a Mettenbergerian pocket sloth with shaky arm strength and accuracy, and a tendency to wilt and take sacks under pressure. Coker’s upside is a long-term clipboard holder.
