Nordin, 25, is a long shot for a roster spot as an H-back.

Rookie Dan Gronkowski outplayed Nordin in camp.

They picked up a couple journeymen tight ends a few days back.

With Brandon Pettigrew out for the year and Casey Fitzsimmons (concussion) sidelined this week, Nordin gets the call.

Even though the Lions are desperate at the running back spot, Peerman isn’t a lock to make the team. He’s a solid receiver out of the backfield but was cut twice as a rookie and didn’t get on the field after latching on with the Lions. The Lions also re-signed exclusive rights free agents LB Zack Follett, OT Corey Hilliard and TE Jake Nordin.

None of the players are guaranteed to make the final roster in 2010. Peerman, activated from the practice squad in December, didn’t see playing time even with starter Kevin Smith out for the season.

Nordin suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder and will have surgery. The H-back type had already lost out to impressive starter Jerome Felton.
