Packers signed Ohio State TE Jake Stoneburner.
Stoneburner (6-foot-3 3/8, 252) played wide receiver as a senior Buckeye, though he caught just 16 passes for 269 yards (16.8 YPR) and four touchdowns. He only caught 53 balls in his four-year career. Stoneburner helped his stock at the Combine with a 4.65 forty, 1.60 ten-yard split, and 34.5-inch vertical. His red flags are weak production and a June 2012 arrest for public urination and running from police. Stoneburner is one of seven tight ends on the Packers’ roster.
  • FA Tight End #85
Rams signed TE Jake Stoneburner, formerly of the Dolphins.
Stoneburner should compete for the No. 4 tight end role behind Tyler Higbee, Cory Harkey, and Lance Kendricks. The Rams also signed ex-Dolphins S Jordan Kovacs.
  • FA Tight End #85
    Dolphins released TE Jake Stoneburner.
Stoneburner was competing for backup duties behind Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims. He should resurface as a No. 3 tight end. Miami signed CB Rashaan Mevlin and activated Bobby McCain off PUP in corresponding moves.

They also cut DE Royce LaFrance. The Saints will likely enter camp with Coby Fleener, Josh Hill, and Michael Hoomanawanui as their top-three tight ends.
  • FA Tight End #85
Dolphins tendered exclusive rights free agent TE Jake Stoneburner.
Miami also tendered fellow exclusive rights free agents S Shamiel Gary, WR Matt Hazel, OL Ulrick John, CB Tyler Patmon and S Michael Thomas. The Dolphins’ third-string tight end, Stoneburner was limited to 123 snaps in 2015.
  • FA Tight End #85
    Dolphins re-signed TE Jake Stoneburner.
He was an exclusive-rights free agent. Stoneburner appeared in 11 games, playing 123 snaps. He’ll return behind Jordan Cameron and Dion Sims.
  • FA Tight End #85
Jake Stoneburner caught both of his targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins’ Week 4 loss to the Jets.
Stoneburner actually led Miami in receiving yards during the first half, which shows just how far the Dolphins have fallen. Two of Stoneburner’s five catches this year have gone for touchdowns. He might vulture a score here and there, but Stoneburner’s volume isn’t nearly high enough to warrant fantasy consideration.
  • FA Tight End #85
Dolphins declared TE Jake Stoneburner, CB Brice McCain, DT A.J. Francis, G/T Jeff Linkenbach, LB Chris McCain, C Sam Brenner, and WR Matt Hazel inactive for Week 7 against the Texans.
Brice McCain is out with a knee injury.
  • FA Tight End #85
Packers promoted TE Jake Stoneburner from the practice squad.
Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State, Stoneburner was released at final cuts. He caught three passes for 12 yards and a touchdown in the preseason. He’ll play on special teams if he’s active for Sunday’s game against the Browns.
