Broncos signed Miami S Jamal Carter.
Carter (6’1/218) made only 15 starts in four years as a Hurricane, finishing with 1.5 tackles for loss, ten pass breakups, and two interceptions. He did lead Miami in tackles (85) as a senior. Carter is a well-built physical specimen, but his ball skills were below average in college and he mainly played center-field safety at Miami, a position that doesn’t suit Carter’s NFL makeup, especially after he ran 4.64 in Indy. Carter did shine on special teams early in college and could earn a roster spot covering kicks.
