Eagles placed LB Jatavis Brown on the team’s reserve/retired list.
Brown played for the Chargers for four years before signing with the Eagles in March. Philadelphia will retain Brown, 26, if he comes out of retirement at any point.

Eagles signed LB Jatavis Brown, formerly of the Chargers, to a one-year contract.
Brown was a starter in each of his first three seasons but was sent to backup duties in 2019 after the Chargers signed Thomas Davis. Only 26 years old, Brown should compete for a starting spot or end up as a high-level rotational player in Philly. When Brown was starting, he was a decently productive player, making at least 79 tackles in three-straight seasons while lining up at different spots in the Chargers’ hybrid defense.

Chargers ILB Jatavis Brown (knee) did not practice Wednesday.
Brown has been out since injuring his knee Week 8 against the Broncos. He was given a 1-2 week timetable after the injury, but it does not look like he is particularly close to returning. A fifth-round pick in April, Brown started five games before going down.

Charger signed No. 175 overall pick OLB Jatavis Brown to a four-year contract.
A combine snub, Brown flashed NFL athleticism at his Akron’s Pro Day, running a 4.44 forty with a 10-foot-5 broad jump. With impressive timed traits and college production, Brown could end up being a steal. He will push for a rotational role behind Melvin Ingram, Jeremiah Attaochu, and Kyle Emanuel.

Chargers selected Akron OLB Jatavis Brown with the No. 175 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Brown (5'11/227) was a shocking Combine snub following a decorated college career in which he earned first-team All-MAC three times and MAC Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. A weak-side linebacker at Akron, Brown set a school record with 41.5 career tackles for loss, including 18 sacks and ten forced fumbles. Brown showed NFL athleticism at the Zips’ Pro Day, blazing 4.44 with an explosive 10-foot-5 broad jump. Described by Mike Mayock as a prospect who “flies around and makes plays,” Brown should be an immediate special teams producer and eventually push for defensive snaps.
