Cardinals signed Texas WR Jaxon Shipley.
Shipley (6'0/192) made 35 starts for the Longhorns, piling up the third most receptions in UT history (218) and the sixth most receiving yards (2,510), although he only scored 11 career TDs and averaged 11.5 yards per catch. Shipley ran 4.52 at the Texas Pro Day with a 35 1/2-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad jump. Strictly a slot receiver prospect like his older brother Jordan, Jaxon possesses sure hands and is a willing target over the middle. Shipley’s ability to handle punt returns should help his chances of earning an NFL roster spot.
