Jeremy Shockey completed two practices in the same day for the first time since returning from foot surgery.
It sounds like Shockey will be healthy enough to get on the field during some preseason games. His risk of injury keeps him well below Tony Gonzalez and Todd Heap in our rankings.
  • FA Tight End
Jeremy Shockey is whining about his additional responsibilities blocking for the Giants.
“Winning games is fun, but from an individual standpoint, I’m not having as much fun,” Shockey said. That Tom Coughlin is really a slavedriver for asking his tight ends to actually block. That said, Shockey’s numbers could dip if he’s not a primary pass threat.
  • FA Tight End
Jeremy Shockey, listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, will likely be a game-time decision Sunday.
The Giants won’t confirm Shockey is playing, but it’s looking likely. Only sit Shockey if you have a great option on your bench.
  • FA Tight End
Jeremy Shockey will not play in tomorrow’s preseason finale.
Shockey continues to struggle with hamstring and foot problems. With no preseason action, he has to be considered questionable for week one.
  • FA Tight End
Jeremy Shockey’s (hamstring) status is uncertain for week one.
Coach Tom Coughlin is “very encouraged” and optimisitic about Shockey’s progress. But he’ll have to survive a week of practice, something he really hasn’t done in training camp.
  • FA Tight End
Coach Tom Coughlin said the Giants will take tight end Jeremy Shockey’s return from a strained hamstring “very slow.”
Shockey will have to gradually build up the strength in his injured hamstring by stretching and rehab work before he will be cleared to return. He’s still likely to be ready for Week 1, but it’s no sure thing.
  • FA Tight End
Giants coach Tom Coughlin admits that barring a setback, Jeremy Shockey will play on Sunday.
“Shockey’s done a little bit more every day and has responded well,” Coughlin said. Shockey is safe for your fantasy lineup.
  • FA Tight End
After resting Monday, Jeremy Shockey ran and caught passes yesterday.
Shockey is dealing with a hamstring injury but the Giants believe he’ll be ready for the opener. If you are drafting this weekend he should project to be the fourth tight end taken, although with so many sleepers at the bottom of the tight end pile this year, we might recommend passing on Shockey.
  • FA Tight End
The Giants looked for Jeremy Shockey more often in week eight.
With three catches for 60 yards, Shockey didn’t have huge production. But the Giants looked to him far more often than the numbers indicate.
  • FA Tight End
Jeremy Shockey’s meeting with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte went well and his recovery is on schedule.
Shockey and fellow former Hurricane Kellen Winslow Jr. are excellent picks at tight end, but neither should be selected before Tony Gonzalez or Todd Heap.
