    Rockies released RHP Jhoulys Chacín.
Chacín, 34, had struggled to a 7.61 ERA in 47 1/3 innings of relief this season with Colorado. He began his pro career with the Rockies back in 2006 and returned this spring on a one-year, $1.25 million contract.

Rockies activated RHP Jhoulys Chacín from the 15-day injured list.
He’ll take the spot of the injured Antonio Senzatela (knee) on the club’s active roster. Chacín has posted a disappointing 7.36 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 34/18 K/BB ratio over 44 innings with the big league club this season. He’ll continue to function in a middle relief role.

Rockies placed RHP Jhoulys Chacín on the 15-day injured list with toe sesamoiditis.
The internet says that is “inflammation of the sesamoid bones in the ball of the foot” and surrounding tendons. It’s unclear how long Chacín might be out. With ugly numbers in Colorado this year, he’s probably not a trade candidate.

Pitching in injury relief, Jhoulys Chacín surrendered two runs on two hits over 1 1/3 innings in Wednesday’s loss to the Dodgers.
Chacín was forced into action early on Wednesday after Germán Márquez left with an injury concern -- possibly a blister -- with one out in the fourth inning. Both runs on his line scored on a two-run homer by Will Smith in the fifth. Across 26 appearances (36 innings) this season, Chacín has posted an uncomfortable 6.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. There is no fantasy upside, here.

Rockies re-signed RHP Jhoulys Chacín to a one-year, $1.25 million contract.
Chacín emerged as a versatile multi-inning reliever for the Rockies last season, recording a solid 4.34 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 47/28 K/BB ratio across 64 1/3 innings (46 appearances, one start). The 33-year-old veteran right-hander will provide the rebuilding Rockies with some additional relief depth for the 2022 season.

Rockies activated RHP Jhoulys Chacin from the COVID injured list.
Chacin has been sidelined since July 16 and will take the place of Chi Chi Gonzalez, who was placed on the COVID injured list on Wednesday. The veteran right-hander will return to a 4.72 ERA over 34 frames this season with a 1.43 WHIP and 27 strikeouts.

Rockies placed RHP Jhoulys Chacin on the COVID-19 injured list.
Chacin is one of at least four members of the Rockies heading to the COVID-19 IL on Friday. The 33-year-old hurler owns a 4.72 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 27/16 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings on the season.

Jhoulys Chacin picked up a no decision after allowing two runs over four innings against the Reds on Saturday.
Chacin gave up four hits, and he walked two while striking out four. The 33-year-old gave up both runs on a two-run homer to Nick Castellanos, and outside of that pitched relatively well; considering he was pitching in Coors Field and the fact that it’s Jhoulys Chacin. He still is the owner of an unhealthy 5.51 ERA in 16 1/3 innings, and isn’t a recommended fantasy option in any possible format. No outing has been scheduled for Chacin yet -- this was his first start of the year -- but it’s likely he’s back on the bump against the Diamondbacks next weekend.

Jhoulys Chacín will start for Rockies on Saturday against the Reds.
Chacín has compiled a lackluster 5.84 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 7/7 K/BB ratio across 12 1/3 innings over six relief appearances this season. The 33-year-old veteran righty has been an invaluable innings eater, gobbling up multiple frames in a long relief role for the rebuilding franchise, but he’s not a viable fantasy option at this stage of his career, especially not in the high-octane offensive environment that is Coors Field.

Rockies signed RHP Jhoulys Chacin to a one-year contract.
Chacin was released by the Yankees on Monday but has already found a new home and will be on the Opening Day roster for Colorado, presumably working in long relief. He previously pitched for the Rockies from 2009-2014 and enjoyed a lot of success, but the 33-year-old right-hander is well past his prime at this point.
