CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reports Chiefs DL coach Joe Cullen ‘is considered a candidate for several defensive coordinator jobs,” including the Seahawks and Commanders.
In addition to the Seahawks and Commanders, the University of Michigan is also reportedly in the running for Cullen’s services. Cullen has been with the Chiefs since 2022 but has spent time with the Jaguars, Browns, Buccaneers, Ravens, and Jaguars since 2010 — serving primarily as a defensive line coach while also calling plays for the Jaguars in 2021. We can expect Cullen’s market to heat up after next week’s Super Bowl matchup against the 49ers.

    Jaguars fired DC Joe Cullen.
54-year-old Cullen spent one season with Jacksonville after coming over from the Ravens, where he was the team’s DL coach for five years. The longtime DL coach has been connected to the Colts’ DC job to replace Matt Eberflus. Perhaps he could go back to Baltimore after DC Wink Martindale left the team.

The Colts will interview Jaguars DC Joe Cullen for their defensive coordinator job.
Cullen was one of the bright spots for Jacksonville last year, holding Buffalo to six points in a Week 9 upset and playing a major role in knocking the Colts out of the playoffs in the season finale. The Ravens had interest in Cullen, who spent 2016-2020 as Baltimore’s defensive line coach, before hiring Mike Macdonald. Cullen is the first known outside candidate to replace Matt Eberflus in Indy.

Jaguars hired Ravens DL coach Joe Cullen as defensive coordinator.
The Ravens continue to lose coaches in the week after their season ended with a Divisional Round loss to Buffalo. Cullen, whose only coordinating experience came at the college level, coached Baltimore’s defensive line for four seasons. The Ravens sported one of the league’s best, most consistent defensive lines during Cullen’s time with the team. He’ll look to bring that success to Urban Meyer’s staff in Jacksonville.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Ravens DL coach Joe Cullen is the Jaguars’ “top target” at defensive coordinator.
A journeyman position coach, Cullen’s only coordinator experience has been at the college level. He’s coached the Ravens’ defensive line since 2016. Cullen looks to have the edge over Raheem Morris for Jacksonville’s defensive coordinator job. Texas DC Chris Ash is expected to join Urban Meyer’s staff as a position coach.
