A fourth-round pick in 2018, Lauletta was let go by the Browns earlier today. In addition, the Browns waived/released WR KhaDarel Hodge, DL Sheldon Day, RB Johnny Stanton, LB Elijah Lee, DL Joe Jackson, DL Cameron Malveaux, DL Curtis Weaver, S Jovante Moffatt, DB Elijah Benton, WR Ja’Marcus Bradley, TE Jordan Franks, TE Kyle Markway, G Colby Gossett, LB Willie Harvey, LB Tegray Scales, RB John Kelly, C Javon Patterson, CB Emmanuel Rugamba, and DT Marvin Wilson.

He joins Myles Garrett, Chris Hubbard and Andy Janovich on the Browns’ COVID list. In theory, it creates depth issues, though Jackson has not played a defensive snap since Week 4.

Dallas also cut RB Darius Anderson, TE Cole Hikutini, and OG Cody Wichmann. The No. 165 overall pick in last year’s draft, Jackson appeared in five games and got in on 71 defensive snaps as a rookie. With the Cowboys adding Everson Griffen and Aldon Smith this offseason and taking Bradlee Anae in the fifth round, Jackson is off the squad.

Jackson (6’4/275) turned pro as a true junior after logging 37.5 career TFLs, 24 sacks, and five forced fumbles across 26 starts. He measured in with lengthy arms (34 1/8") but participated in very few pre-draft tests and struggled in the events he did perform with a 27-inch vertical and 9-foot-1 broad jump. A power player whose motor runs hot but lacks explosion and edge-bending skills, Jackson profiles as a low-ceiling probable rotational player in the pros.
