    Rangers released LHP Joe Palumbo.
Palumbo last appeared in the majors with the Rangers when he made nine relief appearances between the 2019 and 2020 seasons. The 28-year-old lefty was let go earlier this week after walking 10 batters over two innings (three appearances) for Triple-A Round Rock.

Rangers signed LHP Joe Palumbo to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Palumbo last appeared in the majors during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and has missed the majority of the last two years due to injury. The 28-year-old southpaw is healthy this spring and will compete for a spot in the Rangers’ bullpen. He’ll provide some extra organizational depth in the upper minors this season.

Palumbo re-joined the Giants on a minor league contract back in January and has been released after making just five relief appearances this season in the minors. The 27-year-old lefty last appeared in the majors with the Rangers during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season.

Giants re-signed LHP Joe Palumbo to a minor league contract.
The 27-year-old southpaw was designated for assignment by the Giants at the end of November. He threw a total of 6 2/3 innings during the 2021 season, posting a 13.50 ERA for the Rangers at Triple-A Round Rock. He adds bullpen depth for the Giants.

    Giants non-tendered LHP Joe Palumbo.
Palumbo was claimed off waivers from the Rangers earlier this month, but the Giants will now part ways. They could look to re-sign him to a minor league deal.

Rangers optioned LHPs Joe Palumbo and Kolby Allard to Triple-A Round Rock; re-assigned RHP Spencer Patton and OF Jason Martin to minor league camp.
The club also added infielders Jonathan Ornelas and Jayce Easley to their 75-man player pool. Both Palumbo and Allard should contribute with the big club at some point this season, whether it’s in the rotation or bullpen.

Joe Palumbo is getting some rest due to back spasms.
This comes after Palumbo served up a three-run homer in his spring debut last Thursday. Hopefully it’s just a minor issue. The 26-year-old appeared in just two games with the Rangers last year due to an ulcerative colitis flare-up, but he entered spring training healthy with an eye on a bullpen role.

Joe Palumbo coughed up a three-run homer on Thursday in his Cactus League debut against the Rangers.
Palumbo served up a three-run shot to Padres’ minor leaguer Nick Tanielu and recorded only two outs before the opening frame was ended prematurely due to pitch count. The 26-year-old lefty missed nearly the entire pandemic-shortened 2020 as a result of an ulcerative colitis flare-up, which caused him to lose nearly 40 pounds and also resulted in a four-day hospital stay last summer. He’s vying for a spot on the rebuilding Rangers’ Opening Day roster as a versatile multi-inning reliever.

Joe Palumbo spent four days in the hospital and lost nearly 35 pounds from the start of last season as a result of an ulcerative colitis flare-up last summer.
The good news is that Palumbo said he has the condition, which he was diagnosed with back in 2016, under control. He’s also rebuilt his strength to compete for a spot on the rebuilding Rangers’ Opening Day roster this spring. It’s unclear how much of a workload he can handle after missing nearly all of last season, but the 26-year-old lefty is reportedly being considered for a non-traditional relief role.
