Heath was “doing bag drills in an individual period when he went down.” Heath made zero 2020 appearances. This probably ends the 27-year-old journeyman’s NFL career.

Heath made 16 starts (and 32 appearances) across four years with the Texans, notching 34 tackles and three sacks. He was initially waived by the Broncos in February.

Heath will get more time to develop with the Broncos after being claimed off waivers from the Texans late last December. A four-year vet, Heath has been limited to 3.0 sacks and 34 tackles throughout his career.

He’ll join Denver’s roster on February 3 following the Super Bowl. Heath played in 32 games for Houston in four years, totaling three sacks as a reserve. The Broncos will have an option to tender him since he’s a restricted free agent this offseason.

Heath is a fourth-year UDFA out of Michigan State who was slated for restricted free agency. He played 44 nondescript defensive snaps in 2018.

Heath (6'5/293) made 24 starts on the Spartans’ defensive line, logging 10.5 career tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He added 30 pounds in his college career and converted from defensive end to tackle. An average athlete, Heath was a good college player due to his motor and strength. He was by no means dominant in the Big Ten and lacks natural pass-rush skills. Heath’s path to an NFL roster spot will be as a five-technique run stopper in the Kendall Langford mold.
