    Giants released C Jon Halapio.
Re-signed in early September, Halapio failed to survive the final week of camp after he started 15 games for the G-Men last year. It’s possible he’s still recovering from tearing his Achilles’ in the season finale. Expect him to get a tryout in the coming weeks.

  • Giants re-signed C Jon Halapio.
Halapio started 15 games for the G-Men last season before tearing his Achilles’ in the finale. The Giants are attempting to get Nick Gates or Spencer Pulley ready to take over at the pivot, but Halapio gives them some insurance.

  • Giants hosted free agent OL Jon Halapio.
Halapio, who tore his Achilles’ late last season, played 92% of the Giants’ offensive snaps across 15 games last year. The team also hosted WRs Jaron Brown and Johnny Holton and QB Jalan McClendon Monday afternoon. The landing spot makes sense for Halapio since Nate Solder opted out in July.

  • The Giants haven’t ruled out re-signing OL Jon Halapio.
Halapio was non-tendered after tearing his Achilles in the regular season finale. He started 15 games last year but graded near the bottom of PFF’s center ratings. Giants GM Dave Gettleman said the team plans to check in on Halapio in June.

  • The Giants did not tender an offer to restricted free agent C Jon Halapio, making him a free agent.
Halapio tore his Achilles’ in the Week 17 finale and figures to face an uphill battle to be ready for Week 1. The Giants didn’t want to pay him over $2 million on the “low” tender. Halapio, 29 in June, started 15-of-16 games last season, grading out as Pro Football Focus’ No. 35 center out of 38 qualifiers.
  • Giants GM Dave Gettleman said C John Halapio (knee) tore his Achilles’ in New York’s Week 17 loss to the Eagles.
He underwent surgery on Tuesday and is expected to make a full recovery for 2020. Halapio won the Giants’ starting job in 2018 but played just two games before suffering a season-ending leg fracture that forced him to rehab for several months. Halapio’s set to be a restricted free agent following the 2020 season, so the Giants will probably start looking elsewhere for competition as a whole. Spencer Pulley, who the team signed to a three-year, $8.025 million contract last offseason, would get the nod if the season started today.
  • Giants OL Jon Halapio (leg) has been cleared to practice.
Halapio had season-ending surgery in Week 2. He made it through his rehab setback-free and should be on the field for minicamp. Halapio is the favorite to start a center if he stays healthy.
  • Giants re-signed C Jon Halapio to a one-year contract.
Halapio was an exclusive rights free agent, so he did not have any choice but to sign once he was tendered. Halapio opened last season as the Giants’ starting center before a broken ankle sent him to injured reserve. He is expected to be fully healthy by the time OTAs roll around.
  • Giants C Jon Halapio suffered a season-ending broken ankle Week 2 against the Cowboys.
The injury looked bad on the field, and it turned out to be a season-ender. Halapio will undergo surgery this week, and he should land on injured reserve soon. John Greco replaced Halapio on Sunday night.
  • Giants C Jon Halapio was carted off with a leg injury in Week 2 against the Cowboys.
This looked like a bad injury, with Halapio getting put in an air cast. It’s the last thing the Giants needed on a struggling offensive line. John Greco replaced Halapio.
