Bengals re-signed LB Jordan Evans to a one-year contract.
Evans is a core special teams player for the Bengals but rarely sees time on defense. He played on 75 percent of Cincinnati’s special teams snaps last year but logged just 62 totals snaps as a defenseman. Despite the lack of playing time, Evans managed to log a fumble recovery and an interception in 2020.

Bengals declared LB Jordan Evans, CB KeiVarae Russell, CB Tony McRae, OL Cedric Ogbuehi, WR Tyler Boyd, TE Jordan Franks, and DE Kasim Edebali inactive for Sunday’s Week 16 game versus the Browns.
No surprises here as the Bengals has already declared Tyler Boyd out earlier in the week, the only true player of note. Jordan Evans had played heavy snaps at times during the season, but only managed to find the field for 19 snaps over the past two weeks. With Evans inactive, Vontaze Burfict is active for the first time since Week 13 due to missing time with a concussion.
  • FA Linebacker
Bengals selected Oklahoma ILB Jordan Evans with the No. 193 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Evans (6’3/232) made 36 starts in the OU linebacker corps, compiling 22 career tackles for loss with five interceptions and four forced fumbles. He earned first-team All-Big 12 from the conference’s coaches as a senior. Still snubbed for a Combine invite, Evans blew up the Sooners’ Pro Day with a 4.51 forty, 38 ½-inch vertical, and 7.01 three-cone time, good for top-five SPARQ results in this year’s off-ball linebacker class. A Malcolm Smith-style of player, Evans lacks a physical, thumping element to his game but offers sideline-to-sideline range and was one of college football’s premier pass-coverage linebackers.
