Washington ILB Josh Harvey-Clemons opted out of the 2020 season.
Harvey-Clemons has made 41 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 35 appearances since joining Washington as the team’s 2017 seventh-round pick. He joins DT Caleb Brantley as the second player to opt out for Washington.

Redskins selected Louisville S Josh Harvey-Clemons with the No. 230 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.
Harvey-Clemons (6’4/217) committed to Georgia as a five-star recruit, but got kicked off the team for failing multiple drug tests and resurfaced at Louisville, tallying six tackles for loss and three interceptions as a 22-game starter. He was named second-team All-ACC by the conference’s coaches as a senior. A gargantuan safety with left-tackle arm length (35 3/8") and linebacker experience, Harvey-Clemons offers Kam Chancellor-like tools but a worrisome off-field history. A classic boom-bust prospect, Harvey-Clemons could conceivably become a high-impact NFL starter or fall out of the league quickly.

Redskins ILB Josh Harvey-Clemons could have a role in sub packages this season.
A 2017 seventh-rounder, Harvey-Clemons has been an offseason standout at linebacker after playing safety in college. He repped with the first-team defense at minicamp with Zach Brown sidelined. With Brown and Mason Foster coming off injury prone seasons, it won’t be surprising if Harvey-Clemons finds his way into significant snaps.
