Chargers selected Ohio State WR K.J. Hill with the No. 220 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
A one-year starter in the slot at Ohio State, Hill (6'0/196) tied the Buckeyes’ record for consecutive games with a catch (49) on a team-high share of targets in his redshirt junior (100) and senior (75) seasons. He also broke David Boston’s longstanding record as the school’s all-time leader in catches (201). While a terrific possession receiver both underneath and inside, Hill’s skillset is exclusively useful in the slot. His underwhelming showing (32.5-inch vertical, 9'6" broad jump) at Indy’s combine is also less than ideal. His average size and speed pigeonhole him as a possession receiver (a la Cole Beasley) with limited athleticism.
