    Bills waived/injured WR Duke Williams.
The Bills also placed guard Forrest Lamp on injured reserve, freeing up two spots for them to sign running back Kerrith Whyte and defensive back Tim Harris. Williams has bounced between Buffalo’s practice squad and active roster multiple times since signing with the team in 2019. He made one appearance for the Bills last year but did not record any stats. Williams is a candidate to sign with the Bills’ practice squad if he can get healthy.

  • ARI Running Back #6
James Conner (thigh) remained sidelined at Thursday’s practice.
We’ve lost count of how many injuries Conner has suffered this year. Even with their season on the line, it would be a surprise if Conner suited up for Sunday’s must-win at Baltimore. Without him, the Steelers would likely employ a three-man committee featuring Benny Snell, Jaylen Samuels and Kerrith Whyte. Of those three, Snell should handle the most carries while Samuels is the favorite for passing-down work.
  • ARI Running Back #6
James Conner left Sunday’s Week 16 game against the Jets with a thigh injury and will not return.
Another week, another Conner injury. The Steelers’ bell-cow tried to get loose on the exercise bike before heading to the locker room midway through the second quarter. Conner contributed 32 yards on six carries prior to exiting. With Conner done, Steelers will finish out the game with a committee featuring Benny Snell, Kerrith Whyte and Jaylen Samuels.
  • FA Running Back
Steelers signed RB Kerrith Whyte to the active roster.
RB Tony Brooks-James was released in a corresponding roster move. Whyte is a smaller (5-foot-10 and 197-pounds) scat back with plus speed (4.42-second 40-yard dash). He’ll work as the offense’s No. 4 RB behind James Conner, Jaylen Samuels and Trey Edmunds as long as Benny Snell (knee) is sidelined.

Bears selected Florida Atlantic RB Kerrith Whyte with the No. 222 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
An explosive chess piece with 4.42 speed and an 85th-percentile SPARQ score, Whyte carved opposing front-sevens for 6.5 yards per rush behind starter Devin Singletary at Florida Atlantic. Much like Cordarrelle Patterson, Whyte is a swiss army knife that coach Matt Nagy can easily disperse in the backfield, out wide, and on special teams — the Florida native earned second-team All-Conference USA honors for his work as a returner. Whyte admittedly lands with the perfect offensive personnel and staff to utilize his strengths.
