    In a corresponding move, the Bills released punter/kicker hybrid Kaare Vedvik. Edwards was a seventh-rounder in the 2016 NFL Draft and has been with the Jets ever since. He has an average punt of 45.5 yards.

    The Sam Houston State product was a surprise pick in the seventh round, but his draft status makes him the odds-on favorite for the starting job. The Jets did not have a punter on the roster entering the draft.

    Edwards is an FCS punter, and an Australian native. He’ll obviously be the odds-on favorite to start, as the Jets entered draft weekend without a punter. Edwards will have to be atrocious in camp not to get the job.
