    Cowboys signed S Mana Silva.
No relation to our own Evan Silva. Mana was an undrafted free agent out of Hawaii that spent time on the Ravens’ and Bills’ practice squad this year. He’ll serve as depth at safety with Barry Church (shoulder) done for the year.

    Cowboys released S Mana Silva.
It’s a bad sign for Silva that he’s getting the boot even though Barry Church (Achilles) is done for the year. The Cowboys will roll with Gerald Sensabaugh, Danny McCray and newly signed Eric Frampton as their only healthy safeties going forward. Corner Brandon Carr may play some safety in sub packages.

    Bills released S Mana Silva.
25-year-old Silva spent all last season on the reserve/left squad list. He appeared in 12 games as a reserve safety with the Bills and Cowboys from 2011-2012.

Bills placed S Mana Silva on the reserve/left squad list.
Silva is apparently retiring after two weeks of training camp. Coach Doug Marrone wasn’t happy the safety didn’t tell him before taking off. “If it’s a personal thing I would like to expect the player to come to me and say, ‘I have this going on I would like to be excused,’” said Marrone. If Silva gets the itch to play again, he’s going to have some convincing to do. The Bills will retain his rights.
