Redskins selected Florida State DE/OLB Markus White with the No. 224 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
A long-armed, 6-foot-4, 266-pound pass rusher, White played left defensive end for the ‘Noles but will be a 3-4 outside linebacker under Jim Haslett. He racked up eight sacks and 12 tackles for loss as a senior, also forcing a fumble. White doesn’t have exceptional long speed, evidenced by his 4.93 forty at the Combine. There also may be some character flags because White bounced around three colleges (Rutgers, Butler CC, and FSU). Regardless, it’s a bit surprising he was still available so late in round seven, and is a high-motor defender worth an NFL draft pick.
