Saints sign WR Maurice Harris to a reserve/future deal.
Harris worked out for the Saints back in December. He played with the Redskins from 2016-2018 before spending parts of last season with the Patriots. Harris has just one career touchdown in 28 games, but offers at least some proven ability for a Saints offense that has struggled to find consistency at the WR position behind Michael Thomas.

Free agent WR Maurice Harris will work out for the Saints on Friday.
He’ll be joined by ex-Steeler Antonio Brown, among others. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints are taking inventory of available wide receivers in case injuries arise during the postseason. Harris went to training camp with New England this summer but was later waived with an injury settlement. The 27-year-old Cal alum hasn’t been much of a difference-maker since arriving as an undrafted rookie in 2016, submitting just 40 catches for 432 yards and one touchdown over 28 appearances (all for Washington). He’d merely be a depth option in New Orleans.

Free agent WR Maurice Harris worked out for the Vikings.
Harris has been out of the league since the Patriots released him at final cuts. He’s worked out for teams the last few weeks but has yet to sign. With no proven options behind Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, the Vikings wouldn’t be a bad landing spot for Harris.

Free agent WR Maurice Harris will visit the Lions on Tuesday.
It’s the first we’ve heard from Harris since he was released by the Patriots. Given his buzz as a 6'2/195 slot threat, his workout may mean Danny Amendola (chest) is further away from returning than initially thought. The 26-year-old caught 28 balls in 12 games for the Redskins last season.

Patriots released WR Maurice Harris with an injury settlement.
That escalated quickly. Harris went from drawing buzz early in camp to free to sign elsewhere once he gets healthy. The “big” slot man should get plenty of workouts once he’s over his ailment. 26-year-old Harris caught 28 balls in 12 games for the Redskins last season.

    Patriots waived/injured WR Maurice Harris.
Harris was hyped for a chunk of the offseason, but his odds of making the team were drastically cut by an August injury and with Josh Gordon and Demaryius Thomas in the building. Harris should have no problems catching on somewhere else as a big slot receiver once healthy.

Phillip Dorsett (thumb) didn’t practice on Thursday.
Dorsett bowed out of Wednesday’s practice with a thumb injury and was seen with a wrap on his thumb during Thursday’s warmups. Maurice Harris (undisclosed) and N’Keal Harry (ankle, hamstring, toe) were also absent Thursday, leaving the Patriots—who are already without Julian Edelman (thumb) and Demaryius Thomas (Achilles)—extremely shorthanded at receiver. Their absences have afforded more opportunities for Dontrelle Inman, Jakobi Meyers and Braxton Berrios, among others.

The Boston Herald considers Patriots WR Maurice Harris a 53-man roster lock and believes he would be a starter were the season to begin today.
Harris continues to earn raves across all Patriots media. There are 40 days between now and the Patriots’ opener, but it’s possible Harris emerges with a real role in the Pats’ up-for-grabs receiver corps.

Patriots first-round WR N’Keal Harry was working with the second-team offense behind Maurice Harris and Phillip Dorsett on Sunday.
Harry “didn’t have the best minicamp” and the Patriots aren’t going to run him with the ones full time unless he proves it. With that said, Harry should end up starting alongside Julian Edelman once he works out his rookie mistakes. In fact, Harry was a “starter” in 11-personnel sets on Sunday, a grouping the Patriots trotted out on 68% of passing plays last year. Harry’s ADP is affordable with 165 available targets up for grabs in New England but a Josh Gordon reinstatement or Gronk unretirement would cap the rookie’s 2019 ceiling.

MassLive.com’s Andrew Callahan reports Patriots WR Maurice Harris has been the best wideout in camp by a “decent margin.”
Callahan is just the latest member of the Patriots press corps to praise the ex-Redskin. Despite his 6-foot-3 frame, Harris has a slot skill-set, which fits perfectly with the offense Tom Brady must execute as a 42-year-old. Early camp hype should always be taken with a grain of salt — especially in New England — but Harris was intriguing the day he signed, and is even more so now. He is someone to keep an eye on this summer.
