Titans selected Michigan DT Mike Martin with the No. 82 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
A stout 6-foot-1, 306 pounds, Martin played nose tackle at Michigan, but projects more as a three-technique tackle in the NFL. Martin boasts a variety of moves, but has never been particularly productive as a pass rusher. His strength enables him to win one-on-one battles, but then slows him as he chases after the quarterback. Martin will see limited snaps as he’s molded as a rookie.

According to the Nashville Tennessean, Sen’Derrick Marks is in danger of losing his roster spot after the Titans spent a third-round pick on DT Mike Martin.
Martin is expected to make an immediate impact, and the Titans like veteran Shaun Smith as a rotational piece against the run. A second-round pick in 2009, Marks is set to make $615,000 in the final year of his rookie deal. He’ll have to beat out Smith, versatile DE/DT Malcolm Sheppard, and perhaps even undrafted free agent DaJohn Harris to make the Opening Day roster.

Titans signed third-round DT Mike Martin to a four-year contract.
The deal is worth $2.72 million. An undersized nose tackle at Michigan, Martin is expected to be more of a gap shooter in the Titans’ scheme. He’ll vie for snaps with Shaun Smith and Sen’Derrick Marks behind Jurrell Casey and Karl Klug.

Titans DT Mike Martin said he is down to around 295 pounds after playing at 318 last season.
Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Martin is facing a make-or-break season. The former third-round pick has not played more than 450 snaps in any of his three seasons and had zero sacks last year. Best suited as a gap-shooting three tech, Martin is not a great fit for the 3-4 scheme the Titans employ, but the weight reduction could help him carve out a role in sub packages.
