Twins signed RHP A.J. Alexy to a minor league contract.
Alexy heads to Minnesota as extra pitching depth and will likely open next season at Triple-A St. Paul, barring a remarkable performance in Grapefruit League action. The 25-year-old righty struggled mightily in 16 appearances (four starts) last season for Triple-A Charlotte prior to being released by the White Sox. He made nine appearances (four starts) for the Rangers from 2021-2022, posting a lackluster 6.30 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 23/26 K/BB ratio across 30 innings of work. He’s unlikely to make an impact for fantasy managers next season.

White Sox released RHP AJ Alexy.
Alexy bounced around last offseason on waivers between the Rangers, Nationals, and Twins before finally landing with the White Sox in late January. The 25-year-old righty has made nine appearances (four starts) in the majors since the 2021 campaign.
  • Starting Pitcher #59
White Sox sent RHP A.J. Alexy outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
The right-hander passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as depth for the White Sox at the Triple-A level. The 25-year-old hurler has registered a stratospheric 15.30 ERA, 2.50 WHIP and a cringe-inducing 10/18 K/BB ratio over 10 innings at Triple-A Charlotte. It’s not hard to see why he made it through waivers.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
White Sox optioned RHP A.J. Alexy to Triple-A Charlotte.
Alexy was claimed off waivers from the Twins back in late January and hasn’t pitched this spring due to a left oblique injury. The 24-year-old righty will open the regular season as organizational pitching depth at Triple-A Charlotte.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
A.J. Alexy is dealing with a left oblique issue.
Alexy might be ready to appear in a spring training contest next week, barring any setbacks, but he’s been limited by the issue so far this spring. The 24-year-old righty was claimed off waivers from the Rangers a few weeks ago.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
White Sox claimed RHP A.J. Alexy off waivers from the Twins.
Alexy was designated for assignment last week by the Twins and will head to the division-rival White Sox. He’s also spent time briefly this offseason with the Rangers and Nationals. The 24-year-old righty holds an underwhelming 6.30 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 23/26 K/BB ratio across 30 innings (nine appearances, four starts) over the last two seasons in the majors.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
Twins designated RHP A.J. Alexy for assignment.
The 24-year-old right-hander was just acquired from the Rangers a couple of weeks ago, but he’ll get squeezed off of the 40-man roster with the Twins’ addition of Michael Taylor on Monday. There’s a chance that Alexy could pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to function as rotation depth for the Twins.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
Twins acquired RHP A.J. Alexy from the Nationals for RHP Cristian Jimenez.
The biggest move of the day in Minnesota, obviously. Alexy was jettisoned from the Nationals’ 40-man roster last week and will head to the Twins in a small trade. The 24-year-old righty holds an underwhelming 6.30 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 23/26 K/BB ratio across 30 innings (nine appearances, four starts) over the last two seasons in the majors.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
Nationals designated RHP A.J. Alexy for assignment.
The 24-year-old right-hander was just claimed off waivers from the Rangers on December 13, but the Nationals needed to clear out a roster spot for Dominic Smith. Alexy has been lit up for 21 earned runs in 30 career innings at the MLB level. That works out to a 6.30 ERA.

  • Starting Pitcher #59
Nationals claimed RHP A.J. Alexy off waivers from the Rangers.
Alexy was designated for assignment last week by the Rangers and will head to the Nationals as extra organizational pitching depth. The 24-year-old right-hander has compiled a bloated 6.30 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 23/26 K/BB ratio over 30 innings (nine appearances, four starts) over the last two seasons in the majors.
