Yankees signed Manager Aaron Boone to a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season.
Despite seemingly yearly criticism from Yankees fans that Boone has been unable to deliver a title, the 51-year-old manager will be at the helm for the next three seasons at least. Boone is tied for sixth all-time in wins as a Yankees manager with a 603-429 record. Of course, he has won only one AL pennant and no World Series rings and that’s what Yankee fans will want most of all.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman said Friday that his “intent” is to do an extension with manager Aaron Boone this spring.
The Yankees picked up Boone’s option for 2025 after last season, and they’re focused on taking him past that. Boone is 603-429 in seven years at the helm for the Yankees. He and Dave Martinez are tied for sixth when it comes to longest current managerial tenures.

Yankees exercised manager Aaron Boone’s option for 2025.
It was thought the two sides were working on a multiyear deal, but that hasn’t come to fruition, at least not yet. Boone’s Yankees reached the World Series last season, losing in five games to the Dodgers. His team is 603-429 in his seven years at the helm, but just 22-23 in six postseason appearances.

Aaron Boone is expected to be back as the Yankees manager in 2025, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
Heyman says the Yankees are expected to pick up Boone’s option for 2025 at the very least. Boone is 603-429 (.584) in seven years as the Yankees skipper. In 2024, the Yankees won their third division title and made the playoffs for the sixth time under Boone. New York won the AL pennant for the first time since 2009. After missing the playoffs in 2023, Boone was somewhat on the hot seat, but the Yankees’ accomplishments in 2024 seem to have put that to rest for the time being.

Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the Marlins for arguing balls and strikes.
It’s the first ejection of the season for the Yankees’ skipper. It looked as though he was trying to protect his player, Alex Verdugo, who took objection to several called strikes during the ballgame. Bench coach Brad Ausmus will function as the Yankees’ manager for the remainder of Wednesday’s game.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports the Yankees have hired Brad Ausmus as their next bench coach.
Ausmus joins Yankees manager Aaron Boone’s staff after spending the last two years in the Athletics’ organization split between a bench coach and front office role. the 54-year-old former big leaguer lasted one season as Angels manager back in 2019 and also had a four-year stint at the helm for the Tigers from 2014-2017.

The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports the Yankees have offered James Rowson their hitting coach position for 2024.
Rowson appears to be the favorite to replace Sean Casey as New York’s hitting coach, if he decides to take the job. He’s spent last year as the Tigers’ assistant hitting coach, but also had a six-year stint last decade in the Yankees’ organization as a minor league hitting coordination.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the Yankees are hiring Sean Casey as their next hitting coach.
Casey has zero major-league coaching experience, but is a former teammate of Yankees manager Aaron Boone. The former big leaguer will replace Dillon Lawson, who was fired from the position following Sunday’s first-half finale against the Cubs. He’ll attempt to turn around a Yankees’ offense that ranks 19th in runs scored, and 21st in OPS this season.

Yankees fired hitting coach Dillon Lawson.
Lawson was promoted to the club’s hitting coach position prior to the 2022 campaign, and becomes the first coach fired during longtime president of baseball operations Brian Cashman’s tenure at the helm in New York. Cashman told reporters Sunday afternoon that the organization’s next hitting coach will come from outside the organization. New York’s offense ranks 19th in runs scored and 21st in OPS heading into the All-Star break.

Yankees hired Brad Wilkerson as an assistant hitting coach.
Wilkerson played eight seasons in the majors from 2001 through 2008 and will replace Hensley Meulens on Yankees manager Aaron Boone’s staff heading into the 2023 season.
