    Dodgers released LHP Alberto Castillo.
Castillo was trying to earn a roster spot on a minor league deal, but he evidently failed to impress enough despite allowing just one earned run in his three appearances. The journeyman should catch on with someone as minor league depth.

Dodgers signed LHP Alberto Castillo to a minor league contract.
He’ll also get an invite to spring training. Castillo, 36, posted a 2.31 ERA and 6/7 K/BB ratio over 11 2/3 innings this past season with the Diamondbacks. Left-handed batters have knocked him around pretty good in the big-leagues, so he’s probably a longshot to secure a specialist job.

MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez reports that the Dodgers are close to a minor league deal with Albert Castillo.
Castillo posted a promising 2.31 ERA in 17 relief appearances this past year for the Diamondbacks. He’d likely get an invitation to spring training from the Dodgers.

Diamondbacks sent LHP Alberto Castillo outright to Triple-A Reno.
It’s a move made in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster as the D’Backs head into their offseason. Castillo held a 2.31 ERA and 1.46 WHIP over 17 games for Arizona this season and will likely catch on somewhere with a minor league deal over the winter.

Orioles optioned LHP Alberto Castillo to Triple-A Norfolk.
Castillo was recalled only two weeks ago and did a fine job during his time in the bigs, but he was one of the few Baltimore relievers with minor league options remaining. The move cleared a spot on the 25-man roster for Koji Uehara, who will return to the O’s on Thursday.

Orioles recalled LHP Alberto Castillo from Triple-A Norfolk.
Castillo wasn’t bad in his previous stint in the majors while Koji Uehara was on the disabled list, so he gets the call as the Orioles try to find a late inning combination that won’t leak away wins. After Saturday’s late inning fiasco against the Indians, it’s hard to blame the O’s for looking at new solutions to their late inning problem.

Orioles optioned LHP Alberto Castillo to Triple-A Norfolk.
The Orioles saw enough after he was smoked for four runs on four hits, including a three-run homer during Thursday’s game against the Rangers. Infielder Scott Moore is expected to take his place on the roster before Friday’s game.

That didn’t take long. Castillo, 34, was optioned to the minor leagues just four days ago after a four-run outing against the Rangers. The O’s are obviously hoping that he’ll fare a little better this time around.

Orioles recalled LHP Alberto Castillo from Triple-A Norfolk.
Castillo’s been around forever. Baltimore rescued him from the Atlantic League last summer, and he pitched well for the Orioles. He’s been solid at Triple-A this season, and should help the Baltimore bullpen.

Orioles optioned RHP Radhames Liz and OF Luis Montanez to Triple-A Norfolk; reassigned LHP Alberto Castillo, C Guillermo Rodriguez, INF Scott Moore and INF Oscar Salazar to minor league camp.
Liz had allowed just one run in 4 1/3 innings since being sent to the pen, but since he has options left, he never had a real shot of making the team as a reliever. Montanez, who lost his spot when the Orioles added Ty Wigginton, goes down after hitting .340/.400/.420. Moore was also quite productive, batting .315/.351/.574.
