Nationals signed RHP Alex Colomé to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Colomé settles for a minor league deal after a poor second half with the Rockies that included an absence due to an elbow impingement. He’s been very durable otherwise, and though he doesn’t get many strikeouts these days while focusing on his cutter, he offers strong groundball numbers. He should make the Nationals, and he could be a fallback for saves if Kyle Finnegan stumbles.
