Mariners reassigned SS Colt Emerson, OF Lazaro Montes, RHP Casey Lawrence, RHP Sauryn Lao and LHP Austin Kitchen to minor league camp.
The 19-year-old Emerson went 2-for-17 with a homer and a 3/4 K/BB in big-league camp. Seattle’s top prospect, he’ll probably open up this season back at high-A Everett and finish it in Double-A. Kitchen was the one guy here with a slim chance of making the Mariners, but he gave up seven runs in four innings.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #91
Mariners sent LHP Austin Kitchen outright to Triple-A Tacoma.
Kitchen went unclaimed on waivers and will remain with Seattle as extra organizational relief depth heading into spring training. The 27-year-old lefty was claimed off waivers back in September after making four appearances last year for the Marlins.

Mariners designated LHP Austin Kitchen for assignment.
Kitchen was claimed off waivers last September from the Marlins and winds up losing his 40-man roster spot after making four appearances (one start) last year for Miami. The 27-year-old southpaw should attract some interest on waivers as extra relief depth.

Mariners claimed LHP Austin Kitchen off waivers from the Marlins.
The 27-year-old Kitchen had a 14.14 ERA and a 4/3 K/BB in seven innings for the Marlins. He throws strikes and gets grounders, so there’s some potential usefulness here as a middle reliever. He also has all of his option years, which teams just love. He’ll head to Triple-A for now.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #91
Marlins designated LHP Austin Kitchen for assignment.
It’s a tough break for Kitchen, who was rocked for seven runs — six earned — over two innings on Friday in an emergency spot start against the Phillies. There should be some interest in the 27-year-old lefty on waivers.

Marlins recalled RHP Austin Kitchen from Triple-A Jacksonville.
With a bullpen that has been used and abused over their first two games at Coors Field, the Marlins are adding reinforcements on Wednesday. Kitchen, 27, has posted a 13.50 ERA and 3.00 WHIP in his two innings of work with the big-league club this season.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #91
Marlins optioned RHP Austin Kitchen to Triple-A Jacksonville.
With Valente Bellozo getting promoted from Triple-A to start against the Braves on Friday, someone needed to get the boot from the active roster and unfortunately it was Kitchen who pulled the short straw this time. The 27-year-old right-hander has registered a 13.50 ERA and 3.00 WHIP in two innings of work with the Marlins this season.

Marlins recalled RHP Austin Kitchen from Triple-A Jacksonville.
With AJ Puk getting dealt to the Diamondbacks on Thursday night, there was a new opening in the Marlins’ bullpen and Kitchen will slide right in. The 27-year-old hurler — who was claimed off of waivers from the Rockies back in June — has posted a 3.03 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 27/10 K/BB ratio over 38 2/3 innings in the minor leagues this season.

Marlins claimed LHP Austin Kitchen off waivers from the Rockies and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Kitchen was designated for assignment Sunday, and the 27-year-old has a new home in the Miami organization. The left-hander has a good chance of helping the Marlins’ bullpen before 2024 comes to a close.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #64
Rockies designated LHP Austin Kitchen for assignment.
Well, that was quick. Kitchen was up with Colorado for roughly 24 hours and didn’t wind up making an appearance during Saturday’s back-and-forth slugfest at Coors Field. The 27-year-old lefty might generate some interest on waivers, especially for a rebuilding organization where they can afford to stash him in the upper minors.
