Benjamin Snyder left his start Wednesday in the Hawaiian Winter League after taking a comebacker off his ankle.
Snyder was charged with six runs in two plus innings. The 22-year-old is 0-4 with a 9.39 ERA in Hawaii after spending the year dominating inferior competition in the Sally League. He finished 16-5 with a 2.09 ERA there. The Giants never gave him a promotion because developing a powerhouse team at Augusta was the priority.

Orioles selected LHP Ben Snyder from the Giants with the third pick in the Rule 5 Draft.
Snyder is expected to head to Texas to complete the Kevin Millwood trade. The 24-year-old southpaw has a 2.98 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in four minor league seasons. The soft-tossing lefty made the transition to the bullpen with Double-A Connecticut in ’09, posting a 2.88 in 34 appearances (five starts). He could battle Clay Rapada for the left-handed specialist role in Texas next season.

Orioles traded LHP Ben Snyder to the Rangers to complete the Kevin Millwood trade.
The Orioles were never expected to keep Snyder. The 24-year-old southpaw was 4-4 with one save and a 2.88 ERA in 34 appearances with Double-A Connecticut in 2009. Holding lefties to a .146 clip, he’ll enter camp with a chance to win a job as a left-handed specialist.

Ben Snyder tossed seven scoreless innings in a win for Single-A San Jose on Thursday.
Snyder, 23, went 16-5 with a 2.09 ERA at low-A Augusta last year. Perhaps the Giants will consider giving him a midseason promotion if he continues to excel this season. He has a mediocre fastball for a left-hander, but his changeup and above average command could get him to the majors.

Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Rangers are trying to work out a deal with the Giants to keep Rule 5 selection LHP Ben Synder.
He has already cleared waivers, so he would pitch with Triple-A Oklahoma City if a deal can be reached. Snyder hasn’t pitched particularly well this spring, posting a 9.00 ERA over seven innings, but the team believes in his promise as a reliever. The 24-year-old southpaw was 4-4 with one save and a 2.88 ERA in 34 appearances with Double-A Connecticut (Giants) last season. He projects best as a left-handed specialist.
