The 28-year-old lost his spot on the roster when Detriot acquired Blair Calvo from the Rockies in the middle of June. He will return to Triple-A Toledo and will remain with the Tigers as extra bullpen depth.

The Tigers’ needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Sunday’s acquisition of Blair Calvo from the Rockies, and it looks like Bristo was the odd-man out this time around. The 28-year-old hurler has registered a 2.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and a 5/4 K/BB ratio over seven frames between the Rays and Tigers this season. He could pique another club’s interest on waivers once again.

Bristo has made one appearance for the Rays (three scoreless) and one for the Tigers (one unearned run in two innings) this season. He’ll be available in middle relief today.

Bristo was shipped back to the minors following Wednesday’s series finale against the Rangers to make room for righty Reese Olson to get the call to start Friday’s game against the White Sox. The 28-year-old righty made his Tigers debut earlier this week, allowing an unearned run over two innings of work. He should return sometime in the near future.

Bristo has been summoned to provide the Tigers with some additional bullpen depth with lefty Eduardo Rodriguez heading to the injured list with a finger issue. The 28-year-old righty was claimed off waivers earlier this month from the Rays and will be making his Detroit debut when he gets into a game.

Bristo was designated for assignment last week by the Rays and represents a decent lottery ticket for the Tigers. The 28-year-old right-hander will head to Triple-A Toledo as extra organizational depth.

Bristo collected a three-inning save earlier this month in his big-league debut and has been removed from Tampa Bay’s 40-man roster to make room for righty reliever Javier Guerra, who was acquired from the Brewers in a trade.

It wasn’t on account of anything he did wrong, as Brito worked three scoreless innings in his MLB debut to earn a save against the Red Sox on Thursday. The 28-year-old will hopefully get a longer stay next time.

The 28-year-old hurler came on in the seventh inning with the Rays leading 8-3, and all he had to do was keep the train on the tracks. He did more than that though -- piling up four strikeouts while allowing just one walk and no hits over his three frames. Bello threw 29 of his 42 pitches for strikes in the game, registering an elite CSW of 38 percent.

A minor league signing this winter, Bristo had allowed three runs in five innings with a 7/1 K/BB ratio through his first four appearances in Triple-A this season. The 28-year-old will be making his MLB debut when he gets into a game.
