Leach

Leach pitched in Japan last season and posted an ugly 5.95 ERA over eight starts with the Yokohama BayStars. The 29-year-old left-hander compiled a 5.75 ERA and 19/12 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings with the Dodgers in 2009 and is likely to serve as minor league depth.

Leach was given the boot after posting an ugly 7.02 ERA over his first 10 appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque this season. The 29-year-old left-hander compiled a 5.75 ERA and 19/12 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings with the Dodgers in 2009 and spent last season in Japan. He’ll look to latch on elsewhere.

He was cut loose by the Dodgers have posting a 7.02 ERA over his first 10 appearances with Triple-A Albuquerque. Leach has been assigned to Double-A Mississippi.

Leach will take the place of Hong-Chih Kuo on the roster. A lefty, he has allowed one run over 13 innnings this season to go along with 17 strikeouts and eight walks.

Leach was 2-0 with a 5.75 ERA and 1.38 WHIP in 20 1/3 innings over 38 appearances for the Dodgers this year. The situational lefty should be back with the big league club later this season.

Leach spent most of 2014 with Triple-A Nashville, where he posted a 3.28 ERA and 69/28 K/BB ratio over 60 1/3 innings. The 32-year-old hasn’t pitched in the majors since 2009 as a member of the Dodgers and will continue to serve as minor league bullpen depth for Milwaukee.

We learned yesterday that the Yokohama BayStars signed Leach, so this is something of a formality. The 28-year-old left-hander posted a 5.75 ERA and 19/12 K/BB ratio over 20 1/3 innings with the Dodgers in 2009, but split last season between Double-A Chattanooga and Triple-A Albuquerque.
