Giants optioned RHP Brian Wilson to Triple-A Fresno.
Wilson had pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings in his last three appearances, lowering his ERA to 5.40. It looks like he’s losing his spot to Jack Taschner mostly because neither Mike Stanton nor Steve Kline has been very good against left-handed hitters.

Brian Wilson yielded three runs in just one-third of an inning of relief Monday against the Nationals.
Wilson might be the Giants’ long-term closer, but he’s doesn’t seem to be an option to replace the struggling Armando Benitez right now. He has a 6.41 ERA and a 14/15 K/BB ratio in 19 2/3 IP while working in middle relief.

Giants optioned RHP Brian Wilson to Triple-A Fresno.
Wilson has allowed three earned runs in 6 1/3 innings during his two stints with the Giants. He’ll be back.

Giants activated RHP Brian Wilson from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Fresno.
The Giants kept on indicating that Wilson would have a spot in the bullpen once he was ready to return, but that didn’t happen. Scott Munter, the leading candidate to be sent down, has pitched better lately. Tim Worrell has been the club’s worst reliever, but he’s not going anywhere.

Giants recalled RHP Brian Wilson from Triple-A Fresno.
Wilson was activated from the DL and sent down on Sunday. He’s able to be promoted now because Tim Worrell was placed on the DL. He’ll be used in middle relief.

Brian Wilson (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday.
The Giants will have Wilson throw again Monday before deciding whether or not to shut him down for the remainder of the season. Wilson has reportedly looked good in recent sessions, and we’re cautiously optimistic that he’ll make at least a few appearances before the season comes to close.

Brian Wilson (elbow) will throw off a mound again Wednesday.
Wilson has made steady progress over the past week, so there is increased optimism that he will be able to make a couple appearances before the end of the regular season. We expect his availability to be limited, however, so Sergio Romo still looks like the pitcher to own for fantasy purposes.

Brian Wilson (elbow) was able to throw a free and easy bullpen session Thursday in Giants camp.
Wilson is still working to overcome the elbow inflammation that he developed at the end of the 2011 season, and seems to be on the right track. “It’s getting better each time,” Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Thursday. “That’s what you’re looking for.”

Giants’ manager Bruce Bochy said that Brian Wilson is fine and was never scheduled to pitch Wednesday.
Wilson was originally expected to make an appearance Wednesday, but there was apparently some miscommunication about his schedule. The bearded closer had some elbow inflammation last season and dealt with some arm fatigue earlier this spring, but Bochy is downplaying any health concerns. We’ll have to take his word for it for now.

Brian Wilson threw in a minor league game Friday for a second straight day.
Wilson had some arm fatigue issues earlier this spring, but he made it through both appearances this week with no issues. He appears to be on track for Opening Day.
