The 26-year-old right-hander joined the Angels organization midway through the 2014 season after pitching the first half of the year in the Korean Baseball Organization. He posted a 5.09 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 45/17 K/BB ratio over 76 frames at Triple-A Salt Lake. He’ll function as organizational rotation depth for the D’Backs.

Angels optioned RHP Caleb Clay to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Clay was in the majors for only a couple of days to provide bullpen depth after Saturday’s 19-inning marathon. He has a 3.78 ERA in eight starts this year at Triple-A.

Angels sent RHP Caleb Clay outright to Triple-A Salt Lake.
The club optioned him to Triple-A on Tuesday, and they’ve obviously got a better use for his spot on the 40-man roster. Clay owns a 3.78 ERA in eight minor league starts this season after being signed in June.
