Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is at DH and hitting leadoff on Tuesday against the Phillies.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters they’re trying to shake things up for Guerrero and will see how it goes. It’ll be rookie Charles McAdoo at first base and hitting ninth with a scuffling George Springer getting a mental break. The 27-year-old fantasy superstar has just three homers through 65 games this season. He’s obviously capable of erupting for an extended power surge at any moment based on his track record. It’ll be a pair of certifiable beefy baseball boys in Guerrero and Phillies counterpart Kyle Schwarber atop their respective lineups in the Rogers Centre on Tuesday night.

Charles McAdoo launched his first career home run on Friday in a win over the Orioles.
It was a memorable major-league debut for McAdoo as he crushed an opposite-field shot into the right-field seats off Orioles starter Trevor Rogers for his first career hit. The unheralded 24-year-old prospect figures to split time at several positions as a role player with the Blue Jays, but he possesses an interesting blend of skills. He’s a name to watch in extremely deep mixed leagues and AL-only formats.

Blue Jays selected the contract of INF Charles McAdoo from Triple-A Buffalo.
He was hitting .250/.356/.436 at Buffalo this year, coming over from the Pirates in a deadline Isiah Kiner-Falefa trade in 2024. He’ll have a chance to play Lenyn Sosa off the roster while Sosa is on IL with a wrist contusion, but isn’t in the Thursday starting lineup.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the Blue Jays are calling up infield prospect Charles McAdoo from Triple-A Buffalo.
McAdoo receives his first call up to the big leagues after hitting .250/.356/.436 with eight homers and six steals in 202 plate appearances over 49 games at the Triple-A level this season. The 24-year-old defensive versatility is his signature calling card as he’s played three different infield positions this season. No word yet on the corresponding move, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see Toronto move on from Lenyn Sosa with McAdoo making more sense in a reserve role.
  • Blue Jays acquired OF Charles McAdoo from the Pirates for INF/OF Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
McAdoo was the No. 12 prospect in the Pirates’ system, according to Baseball America. The 22-year-old was a 13th round pick last season. He hit .315 with a .538 OPS, 14 home runs, and 63 RBI between the High-A and Double-A levels this year.
