Chris Bootcheck could be called up to make a spot start for the Angels next week.
Anaheim needs a starter for a doubleheader in Cleveland. Bootcheck hasn’t been all that impressive this year, going 6-7 with a 4.57 ERA and 53/30 K/BB in 126 innings for Triple-A Salt Lake, but in his last four starts he is 3-0, 1.55. He has a chance to fare well against the Indians but isn’t someone to pick up yet.

Chris Bootcheck gave up four runs and walked eight in seven innings for Triple-A Salt Lake last night.
Bootcheck, again a disappointment, has a 6.01 ERA in 13 starts this year. Still, maybe the eight walks were a good sign. The only other pitchers to do that in Stingers history were Eddie Guardado and Mark Redman.

Chris Bootcheck lasted 3 2/3 innings and gave up six runs and 10 hits tonight in a loss to the Rays.
Kevin Gregg replaced him and pitched 4 1/3 hitless innings after giving up a single to the first batter he faced. Bootcheck pitched quite well in his previous start against the Yankees, so he’ll likely remain in the rotation if Jarrod Washburn is going to miss another turn.

Angels optioned RHP Chris Bootcheck to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Bootcheck had a very good start against the Yankees and an ugly outing against the Rays while filling in for Jarrod Washburn. Overall, he has a 3.38 ERA in two starts and three relief appearances for the Angels.

Angels recalled RHP Chris Bootcheck from Triple-A Salt Lake.
The Angels needed a fresh arm after Thursday’s debacle. That’s about all Bootcheck is. He’ll return to the minors soon.

Angels optioned RHP Chris Bootcheck to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Bootcheck made one appearance in his latest stint with the Angels, throwing 1 1/3 scoreless innings in Saturday’s loss to the Yankees.

Chris Bootcheck (hamstring) tossed a scoreless inning Sunday for Triple-A Salt Lake.
Bootcheck, who made just one appearance for the Angels before going on the DL earlier this month, could be optioned to Triple-A later this week. He’s not worthy of a spot in the club’s bullpen.

Angels activated RHP Chris Bootcheck from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Bootcheck lasted just one appearance in Anaheim before heading to the DL, so he wasn’t in the team’s plans.

Chris Bootcheck, bothered by right elbow inflammation late in the spring, allowed one run in seven innings yesterday in his first Triple-A start.
Bootcheck will be called up if the Angels lose a starter before Aaron Sele is ready to return. If Sele makes a successful comeback and the rest of the team remains injury free, Bootcheck probably won’t make it to the majors until September.

Tigers signed RHP Chris Bootcheck to a minor league contract.
Bootcheck held a 3.57 ERA over 16 games -- seven starts -- at Triple-A Durham in the Rays organization in 2011 before finishing the year off in Korea. The Tigers will give him a shot to win a bullpen role, but his 6.54 ERA in 147 1/3 career major league innings suggests that his likely destination to start the year is Triple-A Toledo.
