    The 29-year-old backstop appeared cracked a Major League roster for the first time in 2013, appearing in eight games with the Padres where he had two hits, including a homer, in 12 at-bats. In nine minor league season he slashed a respectable .276/.320/.355 with 12 homers in 634 games.
