Murray

Murray, 26, has posted a 4.30 ERA and 18/9 K/BB ratio over 23 relief innings with Philly this season. He’ll be used in the middle of games.

The Phillies have lost three in a row in humiliating fashion and the bullpen is getting taxed. The team will swap Murray, who logged two scoreless innings in Thursday’s loss, for a fresh bullpen arm. The right-hander owns a 4.30 ERA across 17 appearances this year.

Murray struck out a batter per inning but ultimately held a 6.25 ERA over 24 appearances for the Phillies this season. He’s no longer on the 40-man roster.

Murray, a 13th round pick from 2011, owns a 3.30 ERA with 9.1 K/9 and 3.5 BB/9 over five seasons in the minors. The 25-year-old has pitched between Double- and Triple-A this season while posting a 2.67 ERA and 77/31 K/BB ratio over 77 2/3 innings. He’ll be making his major league debut when he gets into a game.

Murray was a September callup last year and will again operate as organizational bullpen depth for the Phillies in 2016. The 25-year-old right-hander holds a somewhat promising 3.30 ERA and 9.1 K/9 in 310 2/3 career minor league innings.

Murray will take the place of the injured Dalier Hinojosa in the Phillies bullpen. The 26-year-old hurler posted a 6.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 14/5 K/BB ratio across 10 1/3 innings at Triple-A. He’ll be used in low-leverage situations.

Murray has a rough 6.18 ERA in 39 1/3 career major league innings and he struggled this past season in the Phillies’ minor league system. The 27-year-old right-hander seems doubtful to crack the Opening Day roster with Tampa Bay.
