Athletics signed RHP Cristian Alvarado to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Alvarado showed some promise in a full-time move to the bullpen in 2019, posting a 2.66 ERA and 70/18 K/BB ratio over 74 1/3 innings at the Double-A level in the Orioles organization. He’ll try to impress the A’s in spring training.
