Blue Jays acquired INF Cutter Coffey, INF Eddinson Paulino and RHP Gilberto Batista from the Red Sox for C Danny Jansen.

Coffey, 20, was a second-round selection by the Red Sox from the 2022 draft class. He has spent the entire 2024 season thus far at High-A Greenville where he has slashed .238/.321/.463 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, eight swipes and a 65/28 K/BB ratio over 271 plate appearances in 61 games. He’s a nice get for the Blue Jays.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Blue Jays will acquire three prospects from the Red Sox in their trade for Danny Jansen.

Cutter Coffey is one of the prospects that will be joining the Jays in the deal. The 20-year-old shortstop was a second-round selection from the 2022 draft class. He has been excelling at High-A Greenville this season and possesses a high ceiling. No word on the other two prospects yet, but the deal should be announced shortly.
